Seeking Progress: Strengthening the Prospects for Middle East Peace

Markovsky and al-Omari

Join North Carolina Hillel in welcoming David Makovsky and Ghaith al-Omari, both current fellows at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, to UNC-Chapel Hill for a free public lecture for students, faculty, staff and community members!

David Makovsky served for ten months on Secretary of State John Kerry’s Mideast peace negotiating team. Ghaith al-Omari is a former advisor to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Their firsthand accounts of what it was like to work behind the scenes of the Israeli-Palestinian talks provides a riveting view of the issues, the personalities, and the prospects for peace moving forward.
